Since it's a laptop, there's not much you can do in terms of swapping components.

1. Boot from a USB drive or CD, run memtest.

2. Open the laptop, clean out the accumulated dust. Make sure that any fans
   still work (but do not blow high-pressure air directly on the fans).

3. Clean your keyboard. From the Subject: line of your mail, the CAPS-LOCK key seems to be stuck.

If none of that helps, contact me off the list as I may have a suitable laptop for donation.
