I deploy Ubiquiti products for clients and while the Edgerouters are nice, they do not do wifi. You would need to add some Unifi access points to get the full solution. Different management philosophy for commercial grade wireless and more then $100 when its all put together.

The web UI's on the Edgerouters are also horrible on mobile and other small screens.

My understanding is that they generally all support installing
OpenWRT, however, and in my case I remember it wasn't particularly
difficult to do.  You are correct that it typically isn't stock.
