The network interface names in BSD are not much different than Linux
before/without systemd. ie em0 for Ethernet compared to eth0…

If you know your way around a Linux system before/without systemd
(specifically with vanilla sysvinit), you should have no problem using
BSD. Stuff just works. Though you may have to pay attention to
Linux-isms that may creep in from habit.
