Sysadministriva has some basic (admittedly netops-specific)
recommendations in this episode: https://sysadministrivia.com/episodes/S0E11

But generally speaking, a large part of my podcast is a sort of "by
operations FOR operations", and we spend a lot of time (and
arguments...) on the theory behind effective operations implementation.

But definitely grab yourself a copy of the "pink book" (it is no longer
pink, the name is a reference to the 2nd ed.):

As well as a copy of the RUTE by Paul Sheer. It has some perhaps
outdated concepts (lookin' at you, floppies and PPoE) but it is good for
getting a more thorough grok of Linux systems, theory, and GREAT if you
have any legacy boxes in your fleet.

I believe Sheer no longer publishes it online himself (confirmation? I
know he used to), but you can find various copies of it online:

https://www0.sun.ac.za/hpc/images/d/d5/Rute.pdf
http://linuxclass.heinz.cmu.edu/doc/rute.pdf

I even host a copy at the podcast!
