Re: [PLUG] OT - battery replacement for an Android phone

What may be a more economical alternative to replacing the battery, if its capacity is indeed the issue, is to procure a small external battery pack and plug the phone in to charge it as you travel on the bus, sitting at your desk, etc.

Well, 2 things:

1. The Accu-Battery app measured battery capacity over the course of
several weeks, and reports that the estimated capacity is 2526 mAh
2500 mAh instead of the 3600 its supposed to be.
2. I've not changed my habits - same apps, same behavior, etc - and
the drain is much worse than it used to be. The phone noticeably needs
charging more often than it used to.

I stopped by the Best Buy on Delaware Ave; they don't have that
Samsung desk there anymore. They say they have a Samsung Repair Center
at the Deptford store, but that's it. Or I could use some local firm
to do it, they say.

I can probably modify my behavior - leave GPS and location off until I
need them (I use them with public transit apps a lot, to determine
routes), etc. But I didn't used to have to do all that ...
