Brent,

Yeah, I have a separate "Reply List" button, but why would I want
to  move my hand from the keyboard to the mouse, position
the mouse pointer over the right toolbar button, click, and return
to the keyboard to type my reply?

I just hit Ctrl-R (Cmd-R on Mac) to reply to PLUG messages,
the same way I do for the hundreds of other emails I reply to
each day.  For decades, that did the "right thing" of replying to
the sender unless he'd specified a "Reply-To" address like the
PLUG list does, in which case it replied to the specified address
(the entire list in this case).  Early this year, a new release of
TBird intentionally went rogue -- no longer respecting the
standard SMTP "Reply-To" field.  Now it replies to the sender,
unless you configure it not to via the config setting:
- "mail.override_list_reply_to" = "false"

From the PLUG archives, here's the discussion I had with Charlie Li
about this a while back, when he suggested the Reply List toolbar
button:
