I'm very happy with my Oneplus 6.  However, I believe the 6T will come
out soon with a smaller notch and front-screen fingerprint reader, so
you might consider delaying.

The OP phones are creeping up in price but are nowhere near the other
flagships, but the specs are quite good.  Mine has 6GB of RAM, for
example, which should keep me running for a while.  The OP6 also
supports Treble, so in theory it doesn't need vendor support for 3rd
party ROMS for future version changes.
