I guess the question is whether your goal is to use Agile, or to be
able to get a bonus from your boss for claiming that you use Agile.

I suspect management at work read that book.  To a large degree at
work the word "Agile" means "waterfall with unrealistic deadlines."  I
mean, what business manager doesn't want his IT service provider to be
"agile?"  Then again, when the procurement process ensures that
signing a contract takes as long as delivering a full-scale project,
there isn't a lot of incentive to just deliver an MVP.
