I'm pretty sure "high def" mostly has to do with the resolution, not
the compression ratio. But yeah, the difference is really
noticeable. But hey, afaict a large percentage of the population can't
even tell that they're watching letterboxed standard def channels on
their HDTVs, so what do I know?
