Re: [PLUG] MythTV can't tune ABC via LEAF |
Not to hijack a thread, but.... I tried to set up a dvr for my home and have never been satisfied with the results, I was wondering if anyone has a rig they are happy with. I have a roof antenna, an Hdhomerun digital tuner, a QNAP NAS, and Plex as DVR (fee based). It worked for the most part, but I was not happy with the codec used; when streaming the native format it pegged the cpu of the NAS and caused buffering, I used software called MCEBuddy on a windows machine to convert the video to mpv4, which reduced the cpu utilization to 15%, and removed commercials. The system worked some of the time, but often left me with unusable content, or unreliable results. I was wishing for a more reliable rig, and better software than Plex. HDhomerun had dvr subscription too, but I saw poor reviews so went with Plex. I use smarttv, appletv, and roku to watch content. All this to record Svengoolie. :) Sent from my iPad > On Jun 8, 2019, at 8:44 PM, Walt Mankowski <waltman@pobox.com> wrote: > > I'm pretty sure "high def" mostly has to do with the resolution, not > the compression ratio.
