[PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue July 9 - PLUG North - General Discussion + maybe a short talk (7pm at CoreDial)

PLUG North will be meeting on Tuesday, July 9 at
CoreDial's offices in Blue Bell, beginning at 6:30 pm. Directions
to the meeting location can be found at the end of this email.

We don't have a scheduled speaker for PLUG North this month, so this
month's meeting will be General Discussion.

However, I've volunteered to do a "Show and Tell" at the Philly
CocoaHeads meeting on Thursday. I should warn everyone that it really
has nothing at all to do with Linux, and it will only be about 10-15
minutes long. But if you're looking for a little entertainment I'd be
happy to get a chance to practice it. Here's the info on it:

My First macOS App Is Amazing

A friend of mine started a programming book club, and our first book
is Jamis Buck's _Mazes for Programmers_. I started doing the
exercises in Python, but I reached a point where ASCII art wasn't
going to cut it anymore. I thought it would make a good beginner's
project to learn enough Swift and Cocoa to rewrite it as a macOS
app. I'll demo the app, give a quick tutorial in creating mazes, and
talk about what I learned in the process.

At 6:30, prior to the main meeting, we'll assemble in CoreDial's
game room for shuffleboard, pool, and conversation

The meeting will take place from 6:30-9pm (6:30-7 games and
conversation, 7-8 General Q&A, 8-9 Presentation) at CoreDial's
office space in Blue Bell, PA.
