I really want to like these ideas, but they're selling a 2023 Laptop
at the end of 2024, for double the price of a comparable Yoga (though
cheaper than a Thinkpad).  Even if I have to toss the Yoga in a few
years, it still seems like the better deal because I'll have deferred
half the expense for years, and the replacement will be superior.  The
Yoga also has a better form factor for what I want.

This seems like a brutal market to get into, with laptops being so
integrated, and the hardware depreciating so quickly.

I applaud what they're trying to do, really I do.  I just find it hard
to spend double the price.
