Re: Open Office vs. ms word

At my last company, I was the LAN Admin for a decent sized co. Corp. std. was indeed MS but I never had any problems xfering docs using OO. I used Linux as a desktop and as an internal server for intrAnet, backups, and internal DNS.

I may sound like a Linux zelot, and perhaps I am, but I have been through several software shifts, WordStar. WordPerfect, MS Word, and now OO. It lends a sense of perspective is all.

While I agree with you for my home machines (which are also a mixture of Linux and non-Linux machines), corporate standard is still ms word. Format and presentation are important. I'll have a go at my document using OOo 2.0 to see if it makes a difference.
