I would like to edit the config files (if possible) to not > have to do this all the time. > Hi, There are several places that the config files reside. There are global configuration files and there are the user . configuration files located in each users home directory. In most cases, what is the easiest way to accomplish custom configuration is to copy the configuration files from the /etc/X11/fvwm2/ directory to your home directory. It is always advisable not to edit the original without making copies. In your home directory there are several configuration files that are hidden that begin with a . .xinitrc called when startx is executed .xsession called when you are runnind xdm A lot of times .xsession is a symbolic link to .xinitrc. Both of these files can contain programs that you desire to run on startup of X. .fvwm2rc This is the file that contains the configuration of fvwm2. This is the file that has the menus and where the pager goes and the size of the pager and etc. You can copy the /etc/X11/fvwm2/system.fvwm2rc file to this file and edit it accordingly. Further reading: /usr/doc/HOWTO/XFree86-HOWTO.html /usr/doc/fvwm2/ This directory contains a sub directory of examples and README files. /usr/doc/fvwm2-plus/ Same as previous. Now the files that I mentioned are all on the Debian distribution. If you cannot find them where I have said to look for them use the locate command to find them. Also this topic looks like a good topic for the PLUG meeting. What do you think?
