Hi Jason, Why not leave the login restraints as they are and log in as a normal user an after you are in then su to root. This will give you root access to the system while still maintaining system security. If you really really want to login as root via telnet edit the /etc/securetty which lists the terminals that root is allowed to login from. Also see securetty(5) and login(1) man pages.
