MS operating systems have no real security.
Linux and other operating systems have layers of security.  You can assign
permissions not only to programs but to users.  Someone can poetentially
a virus or worm for one of these systems, but the user or system manager has
grant it permission to run (that's it in a nut shell).
There have been Trojan Horse type programs around that do much the same
as viruses and worms, but the user has to be duped into running them.
