Back to the actual original post ... <G> I did as the Mandrake tip page said (Thanks for that, Joe!). However, it still seems to issue a "chmod a-x gnome" in /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions, everytime I reboot. Even with the file "02gnome" in /etc/X11/wmsession.d. So I put a "chmod a+x /etc/X11/gdm/Sessions/Gnome" in /etc/rc.local, so that it makes the file executable at every reboot. And that works. It's a kludge, but it works. :-) Thanks all. (Now if I can only figure out why I can properly boot the 2.2.18 kernel source I downloaded, I'll be happy. But that's for another post, after I try a few more things first) ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
