Was /dev/sga a logical device, or is your scanner a real SCSI scanner? You need to have SCSI Generic support compiled into the kernel If /dev/sga is a usb scanner, under the usb portion of the kernel compile. If the scanner is a parallel port device look under the parallel port devices. Also I think that you need to have CONFIG_PPDEV: (Support for user space parallel port drivers) configured under Character devices. What all of this boils down to is what type of scayou have.
