Actually this doesn't help me. Running oracle is not my primary concern, i only brought it up becasue it was mentioned in the release notes. I _MUST_ be able to run a 1.3JDK, and sorry but Blackdown's 1.1.8 doesn't cut it (although it will suffice for the oracle installer). thanks anyway. also, you included an ftp link in your previous posting. can you give me a little background on that before I download it? thx -chris -----Original Message----- From: Michael Whitman To: plug@lists.phillylinux.org Sent: 4/19/01 10:33 PM Subject: Re: [PLUG] JDK 1.3 and RH7.1 also use Blackdown jdk 1.1.8 ver 3 on system to run Oracle universal installer. http://jordan.fortwayne.com/oracle/817.html >The latest version of Linux (Red Hat) that I have been able to run >Oracle8i (8.1.6) on has been 6.2. > >>>which is >>>that oracle is linked to the glibc 2.1 libs, where as RH7.1 runs the glibc >>>2.2. anyone experiencing similar problems? any fixes? ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
