[PLUG] X Window Smart Terminal?

Hi all!

  I am not sure what to call it so I am using that term for now.  Did 
anyone ever hear of such a thing?  Basically it would allow you to run X 
windows from a pseudo computer.  The computer would not have a hard 
drive, just a direct connection to the Linux server.  I have seen these 
work in the past with UNIX, however they only offered a text based 
mode.  I would be look for the command line, text based, with the 
internet broswing email clients, and all the other lovely functions that 
X has to offer.  I think I heard something about this a while back, 
however I am unable to find anything about it now.
