-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Greetings, I have 2 linux boxen separated by 2 floors. My questions are as follows: a) can i just use 2 802.11 wireless cards to connect the two? b) what is the range on these buggers? The construction is all wood. c) what parts will give me the most bang for my buck... d) how good is wireless lan support on linux? Speed is not horribly important. I can live with anything faster than 128Kps, so if anyone else knows of any other linux friendly options please let me know. I heard of a guy who is using the networking that works over power circuits with linux, but i have not found any docs on the process.... Basicly my other option is to drill holes in the wall and run about 250ft of cat5.... my goal is to keep the entire project less than $250 because that is what it would cost to cable the mess.... thanks - -ian reinhart geiser - -- ======================================== "It's not just a computer -- it's your ass." -- Cal Keegan ======================================== -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.4 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD4DBQE7pMj5Py62TRm8dvgRAt8kAJjGuoWYt/106pFrS5W0qeEgpdv/AJ9UYe3r V5HUeHiCqRaNXmkxn6/Pcg== =DkoM -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
