Re: [PLUG] Developing in Post Script ... back in October

This brings up a question. Ps2pdf works fine for creating basic pdf files from PostScript output. But what tools are available to do the fancier stuff, like bookmarks, annotations, forms, signatures, etc.? Adobe no longer supports its unix version (other than the reader).

Back around Oct 12th, there was discussion with L. Rosenthol about
developing in Postscript.

At the Philly JUG Weds night, Chad Darby spoke on creating .PDF files
on the fly from a Java Servlet using XSL-FO (XML Style Language -
Formatting Object) -- This method in Java can also create Postscript
documents. (Pretty cool!)

I know that I read an article in Java Pro a few months back where a
programmer was using a Javabased XML-code generating tool called
Javacc to build XML translators. This would allow PostScript codes
to be translated into XML and back, simplifying maintenance and
comprehension.
