Well, I tried the 2.4.13 kernel sources from my distro - Mandrake - and
as we mentioned last night, many distros are known for patching their
kernels.

This eepro worked. Unfortunately, the Win4Lin patches *don't*. 

So I may try the stock 2.4.14 kernel after all. Gotta have my Win4Lin.
