The Sun end wants a DIN 9 (like a Mac). The other end can be what
you want (like, say, DB 9, which a PC wants; I have several DIN 9 to
DB 9 cables because I frequently my Thinkpad as a serial consoles for

Unless you're talking about a really old sparc, you can probably get
away with that.

I'd go with the previous suggestion of 9600 to make sure things work
to start up, though.
