I was using it before for a VPN gateway.  I had one of my company's
(Nokia) smaller VPN devices hooked up, and was using the remote client
on my notebook when I was on the road.  That was rather handy.

Other reasons for having multiple IPs would be to put up more than one
system without using a firewall.  I know, stupid, but hey, there will 
always be stupid people out there, right?
