Another possibility is that the household electrical wiring, a bigger antenna
compared to the audio cable, is picking up the interference and passing it to the
PC or amplifier.  If that's the case, a powerline filter might help.  Shielded
cable might help.  To get drastic, a metal shield around the amplifier might
help.

I used to have a guitar amplifier that could bring in radio signals.
