After I backed it up, (yes I learned the hard way) I tinkered with this
a bit. I took out:
echo search $new_domain_name >/etc/resolv.conf
and replaced it with:
echo search cavegirl.org chaosreigns.com netaxs.com >/etc/resolv.conf

The first being my domain, the second being the home network and the
third being the work network. Thanks, this is exactly what I wanted.

I was a little shy of using this because I have never coded a thing, but
I figured with a backup and knowing that $ indicated something in
programming, why not?
