Oh... I responded without actually understanding your question. I
was talking about which domain your host presumed it was in, you
were talking about search domains for DNS lookups.

That'll work. But you really want to do this in /etc/dhclient-enter-hooks
rather than by editing /etc/dhclient-script itself. (The latter is
liable to change with an upgrade, but the former will never be
touched by a distribution.)
