Dear PLUG: I am about to buy a PRECONFIGURED Linux system I am replacing a real DUD system that I bought locally (two in a row) - I believe that part of the problem that I have been having with LINUX installations is that I would get Hardware failure before I could get started on figuring out how to use LINUX. At the suggestion of one PLUG member - I checked out the seller rating page: http://www.resellerratings.com/ I also checked out the following: http://www.linux.org/vendors/systems.html http://www.linuxlinks.com/Companies/Hardware_Retailers/ There were only two vendors who were rated on the Reseller page - one (nameless) received major WARNINGS ! This left only ONE vendor on the list with good ratings: http://www.minotaur.com/ So I am about to put about $1500 on a basic system from Minotaur - (proabably will order on 1 -2 days as I will need some advice from them - they offer choices about items that I have NO idea about) ANY COMMENTS plus or minus on my process or on the unrated vendors on the Linux Hardware pages ???? ______________________________________________________________________ Philadelphia Linux Users Group - http://www.phillylinux.org Announcements-http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug-announce General Discussion - http://lists.phillylinux.org/mail/listinfo/plug
