Actually, if you're using an EXT2 or EXT3 partition for your home directories, you can use a little program called explore2fs to read-only access any EXT2/3 drives in your machine. I use it all the time to get at my Linux files, since my large drives pretty much neccesitate NTFS over FAT32 for Windows space.
