Progeny is still doing business. pgi, the progeny installer is an
enhanced version of the one included in their progeny distribution.
Branden, one of the most important contributor to the debian project
(is the guy behind the XFree86 packages) is a progeny employee and a
part of his job is to work on pgi.

I don't know for libranet, but with pgi you use a pure debian distrib
after a easy (graphical and autodetect) intallation.
