Well, like many tedious tasks, it ends up being survivable enough once
you break down and do it. Although I'm still hoping that there would
have been a way. I'll let you all know if I hear back from anyone on
the gnucash list.

Despite the above annoyance, gnucash (1.6.6) has been a very good
replacement for quicken since I switched over earlier this summer.
