I believe so.  If I type "passive" after logging in and then do ls,
I get my directory listing like I should:

ftp> ls
500 Unknown command.
200 PORT command successful. Consider using PASV.
150 Here comes the directory listing.
dr-x--x--x    2 0        0            4096 Sep 01 15:35 bin
dr-x--x--x    2 0        0            4096 Sep 01 15:31 etc
dr-x--x--x    2 0        0            4096 Sep 01 15:39 lib
dr-xr-xr-x    4 0        0            4096 Sep 03 01:39 pub
226 Directory send OK.
ftp>

I still get that "Unknown Command", but I get my directory listing. hmmm

nmap says port 20 is off.  I'm trolling through the gShield docs to see
about opening/forwarding it.
