That article got some criticism.  See the letters in the following issue.

Does the Cisco router have a firewall built in, or will Linux still be needed for that purpose?

I would think that a "hardware-based" router would be the better choice for use with a business' T1. A PC-based router could fail in many more ways (drives, fans, etc.). If they're going to pay for it, why not get the Cisco?

Linux World just had a review of a Linux-based router. It sounded pretty good and much less expensive than Cisco.
