[PLUG] monitor kablooie?

I'm sitting there, minding my own business, switching from console to GUI, 
when I hear a sound I don't like.  Monitor goes off and power light goes out.

When I switch power back on, I can hear the high-frequency whine but no 
power light or display.  Unplug from computer, same result.

Uh-oh.

Anyone have a 17" monitor in good condition to sell?  A KVM switch that is 
perhaps gathering dust?  A plain old manual video switch?  Something that 
shoots explosive projectiles to help me `fix' the monitor?
