Re: [PLUG] DirecTV DSL & Linux

I run with DirecTV DSL. I've been very happy with it. I have my static
ip address and I have had very little downtime at all.

I'm glad to hear this. What's the approximate cost and equipment required? Have you ever used cable?

I have cable now (computer only) and have no complaints other than the outrageous price. I'd rather not enrich Comcast anymore (they just bought AT&T's cable system, making them the largest in the country). Unfortunately I've had dropouts with DirecTV's tv service, mostly during storms, which doesn't inspire confidence.

I know that Comcast and Bell Atlantic would be a
huge step down.

How so, other than port blocking?

Thanks!
