No, but I have heard first hand about fun with cable uptime, modem
issues and then there was that @Home BS...

I don't know about the satelite service, but the DSL has been just fine
as I mentioned before.  I signed on for the $30 intro, after 3 months,
its $50. Is that cheaper?

Blocking aside, Bell Atlantic forbids running networks and servers
regardless of whether or not they can enforce it.  I don't know about
cable, but Bell Atlantic (Verizon, whatever) doesn't give you a static
IP; I have heard of some people having the same IP for quite a long
time, but I don't like the restrictions, and the impositions.  As for
cable, I don't like monopolies.  I try to stay away from them as much as
possible and all other things being equal, (or a little less than
equal), I'll avoid them.
