A couple of weeks ago I posted about how my soundcard uses the es1371 module. Previously, adding the following line to /etc/modules loaded the correct option for my joystick: options libranet-sound-0 joystick=0x200 After doing an apt-get upgrade, the system seemed to be ignoring this line. dmesg reveals that the driver is assigning the port 0x0 (an invalid address) Today, for the heck of it, I commented out the module line itself. ON REBOOT, THE SOUND MODULE WAS STILL LOADED! (And yes, with the 0x0 joystick address). Anyone know how the system knows to load the es1371 module if it's not mentioned in /etc/modules? Is there some other file out there? Is there some option for autodetecting hardware on boot that I can turn off? This is not mentioned anywhere that I can find. Libranet 2.0 apt-get upgraded to Debian 3.0r1, kernel 2.4.18 Thanks, Greg Helledy -- Privileged/Confidential information may be contained in this message.
