So if you had an inittab that only had: c1:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty1 linux c2:12345:respawn:/sbin/agetty 38400 tty2 linux X would live on 3. I only use 1 VC when I'm running X and do a startx& just in case X does fail so I can fall-back to the console, thus eliminating unnecessary resource usage. -- Regards, Michael D.
