I am sure this question will let you all in on how little I know about linux
and that's fine. What logs? I have had similar problems trying to get a 
redhat 9.0 machine to 'see' a small mp3 player's 'memory-space'. I looked through 
/proc and found something about a usb/uhci/raid device but I could never mount
it. on the other hand when I plug in my digital camera the system mounts it 
automatically (I was very impressed). Can anyone point me to what process that 
is? I am sure that is what needs tuning.
