Given the situation, I'd wouldn't save any time and the students would
be screaming about turning things into PDF files and I wouldn't be able
to do the kinds of line by line comments that are useful to them.

<Sigh> I guess I'll be shopping for a Mac or Windows laptop after I
replace my printer (anyone have any expereince with the HP LaserJet
1012 on a Linux box -- Linux printing says it works).

Going paperless is said to save instructor time. I use a paperless
response system with Drexel students who use the Writing Center's
EWriter (which comes in as email), and it does seem to go faster than
writing comments in ink.
