I've used a GUI pptp client called pptp-php-gtk (on Red Hat 9.0) and it
worked very well to connect to a Linux or windows pptpd server.  Sadly,
I could not get it to work on Mandrake 9.2 (yet).

You should give us a little more info like: distribution/version, type
of VPMs you're considering, simple hardware and/or network info.  Then
you can get more specific advice.
