Static is the way to go. I mentioned DDNS because the discussion was getting carried away with unnecessary network services.


My sole problem -- from a symptomatic standpoint, maybe greater from a solution standpoint -- is the inability to browse and connect to the Linux machine from the Windows machine.


I you would give me access to your Samba server, I would take a look at the problem. Making Samba work shouldn't be too much more difficult than getting two Window$ computers to talk to each other. You are driving me crazy with this problem! :-)


I bet this is a problem with the encrypted passwords on the Samba side.
