Re: [PLUG] UG Meeting room: Recommendations for Finding One

You may want to check out some of the local "public" facilities such as
libraries. I know of at least 4 LUGs in NJ that are/were meeting in public
libraries and none charged for this. I know when I looked at meeting at
the University I work out, we also had to meet the insurance
requirment. While it was "only" $300 a year, that is a lot of money for a
group with no funding :-)

We're looking for a place to meet and are looking for suggestions on how best to go about finding a decent (free) meeting place that would ideally provide a projector and some (or one) Ethernet drop(s) for any laptop users/presentation machines. We'd be a pretty small UG compared to you guys. At this stage there are about 5 of us who've pretty much committed to attending, and I wouldn't count on many more than say 15 people at any time in the near future. The initial plan is to meet on a monthly basis.

So my question to you, PLUG, who were once a tiny group of enthusiasts in the same position we are, can any of you recommend how I might go about finding a meeting place that meets our requirements? Any good anecdotes from when you guys were in your inception?
