I know I say this every time DSL talk comes up, but... My 'prefered' corporate snake is Cavalier Telephone which covers local, long distance and DSL for ~80 dollars (plus taxes... $95). Granted, it does't answer the question about DSL without phone service, but I have had no issues with phone or DSL in 18 months of service EXCEPT the Verizon provisioning.
