When I start x full screen KDE appears to load up fine, but whenever I click on a window in KDE, the window just freezes up. I can't close it, I can't use the dialog boxes in them, nothing. It seems as if the window isn't really there. I hope I am being clear in my description. I also hope there are some mac users on the list. I hope this isn't too far off topic . . . Don't know KDE, but I would assume that it doesn't know about the Finder as it is effectively a replacement for the Apple GUI. X11 as implemented by Apple (Applications/Utilities/X11) DOES know about the Finder. It allows both cut and paste between the two and allows the X11 apps to coexist with the OS X GUI. It's anybody's guess what the KDE binaries use, and what prerequisites are necessary. Darwin Ports (darwinports.opendarwin.org) has a KDE implementation. (Its under X11 - kdebase3). Darwinports ports tend to be better integrated with OS X than do Fink ports in that they try to get all of the necessary pre-requisites when you install them. (arts libart_lgpl audiofile XFree86 jpeg kdelibs3 mad libogg libpng qt3 libvorbis XFree86 lesstif libxml2). Since you are trying to use pre-compiled binaries, it may just be a library match issue. My guess is that you would have to replace the normal OS X Window Manger/Finder with KDE, but I'd have to research how to implement it.
