Hello PLUGgers, I had the thought last week to see if there were any LUGs in the area, assuming I'd at least find one in Philly. Sure enough.... So I'm not quite in Philly out here in Wayne, am 21, and have been using Linux now for a year and a half [thumbs up]. Specifically, I've been using Gentoo and Xfce (to cover the big ones) and have recently been bugtesting/supporting (as much as a non-coder can) the latter. And what would a first post be without a question? Actually, this one is incidental (no, really). I went today to play some MP3s from a CD I lost quite a while ago and they are all listed in every way I know how to list them as size 0. 5 tracks, all empty.... Strange thing is that they are a set of a few MP3s I have on my computer with UTF-8 encoding in the names, but these ones for some reason don't work. (You classical music buffs would recognise that Bartok should have a accent-that's-not-grave over the o.) If anyone knows of what that could be or where specifically I could turn (MP3 people, UTF people, FS people, etc.) to diagnose, it'd be much appreciated. Anyway, it's nice to see this network of people around here; I look forward to being able to make it to a meeting.
