On 02 Jul, 2005, at 12:32, John Fiore intoned: DCAnet uses Verizon in (all?) of University City. I'm out of the Evergreen CO - 38th and Chestnut - and have had the DCAnet DSL service since it was Bell Atlantic.
The service is talked about in this month's billing insert... but if you don't read those inserts you won't hear about the new service. As with almost any company, Verizon's ability to "cross-sell" to existing customers is virtually non-existent. While the original upgrade to 1.5 meg was apparently done as a purely technological upgrade. At least initially, the 3.0 upgrade is apparently only being "offered" to new customers. If you are an existing customer you have to ask for it. However, I would guess that it is going to be denied unless you have completed your original "term of service." I read the insert and then called DCAnet, nobody ever contacted me. The folks at DCAnet said that if I was looking for price, they could not match the Verizon price because that is almost what Verizon charges DCAnet for the same service. i.e. before DCA's profit margin.
