Depending on the situation, timing may be quite critical.  Depending on
your ISP, you may end up with a new address right after a power outage.
 If you are on the outside, and try to get in right afterwards, you will
not have the IP address.

Since it is so simple to put this functionality on the router appliance,
why not do it?
