I quite like the look of the Plastik theme (the usual KDE default, but not KUbuntu's default), but if you're not a fan, you can change the theme in the control center. The kdeartwork package contains extra themes, and more themes are available at kde-look.org. Some kde-look.org themes have been packaged in the Debian archive, look for kde-style-* and kwin-*. The Klearlook theme is a port of Gnome's Clearlooks theme, available in Debian as kde-style-klearlook. http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=31717 Other popular themes include Polyester (kde-style-polyester) and Serenity (kde-style-serenity & kwin-style-serenity) http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=27968 http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=35954 If you don't like any any of the window decorations either, you might try Knifty (kwin-style-knifty) or perhaps the Suse theme (kwin-style-suse2). There is also a theme called dekorator (kwin-style-dekorator) that uses PNGs to more easily make custom themes, many of which can be found on kde-look.org http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8841 http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=23579 http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=31447 http://www.kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=21 As for improving the back end, I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Is there a problem you're having with the functionality of KDE 3's PIM suite? Attachment:
